Rihanna says she’s become a pro at identifying fake friends.

The singer only has a small group of close pals because so many people just want to know her for her fame.

‘I have a good bull detector, so I’m good at figuring out who is real and which people want to be my friend because of what I am versus who I am,’ she explains.
‘I keep good people around me. My best friends are always there for me. They’re honest and they keep me in check.’
And Rihanna, 20, says this savviness has helped her stand out from her peers – despite protests from her record label Def Jam.
‘I felt like the whole world had long, curly blonde hair,’ she tells the Daily Record.
‘Ciara, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina Milian. Everybody wanted to be like everybody else.

‘So I cut my hair and they [Def Jam] made me put my long hair back in as extensions.

‘I just cut it, I dyed it black and I went into the studio making music my way.’

Rihanna reveals haircut helped in studio

Nicole on May 24th, 2008 | File Under News | 1 Comment -

Rihanna has revealed that her shorter haircut gave her a new sense of purpose in the studio.

The R&B singer defied the wishes of her record label by changing her image as she worked on Good Girl Gone Bad, which went on to become a smash-hit worldwide.

“I felt like the whole world had long, curly, flowy blonde hair. Ciara, Beyonce, Mariah, Christina Milian. Everybody wanted to be like everybody else,” Rihanna explained. “So I cut my hair and they made me put my long hair back in [as extensions].

“The second time, I didn’t have any discussions, nothing. I just cut it, I dyed it black, I went into the studio making music my way. I found myself all at once. I like things strong, edgy, a little to the left. I don’t like things that are expected - nothing cliched.”

Recent reports have claimed that the star is planning a duet with Chris Brown.

RIHANNA is said to be on the verge of becoming the model of famous lingerie line Victoria’s Secret.

Following the success of her line of umbrella, Rihanna has recently told a UK magazine that she’s planning another unusual product launch which is her own line of underwear. Soon following her public statement, a new claim has just emerged that she is about to become the model of Victoria’s Secret.

Media Take Out claimed to have been told by Rihanna’s people that the star is on the verge of becoming one of the models for the giant retailer of women’s wear, lingerie, and beauty products. “No one even contacted [Victoria’s Secret], they contacted us and they were throwing around all kinds of numbers and ideas. Everyone’s excited, especially Rihanna,” a source close to Rihanna told.

There has yet official confirmation if Rihanna agrees or not to model the brand.

Already launched her own collection of the colourful totes early this year following the success of her single “Umbrella,” Rihanna admitted to opt for a more seductive line of apparel from her fellow stars. She said, “There might be a clothing line on the horizon, maybe underwear.”
