Another Def Jam/Mercury act, Ne-Yo, breaks into the top five by climbing 9-5 with Closer, but only one track this week manages to move into the Top 10: Hard2Beat’s September track Cry For You, which returns to the 10 by climbing 11-9.
Chris Brown leads seven new entries into the Top 40 with the Jive/RCA-issued Forever debuting at 15, while ahead of its expected climb to number one on the main singles chart this coming Sunday indie label Direction act Mint Royale’s Singin’ In the Rain enters at 23 thanks to its use by 14-year-old Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson in his routine.
The Ting Tings may have lost the number one spot but are compensated by having a second hit in the chart with Shut Up And Let Me Go entering at 24, while other new entries come from XL’s Vampire Weekend, RCA act Kat Deluna, Def Jam/Mercury’sMariah Carey and Epic’s Go:Audio.
